A Random Thought

Our lives are like companies and each one of us is the CEO of his or her own company. Like in any company, people who are close to us our the stake holders in our life company. The reason I call them stake-holders is because what happens in our life matters to them and what they think and feel about us affects us someway or the other (socially, emotionally etc.). This is exactly what happens in a company, companies profit affects share holders and how they feel about the company affects companies performance and market values. Like the CEO of any company it is our job to keep these stake holders happy. The greater is the stake more important it is to keep them happy. For companies growth it is important to keep the stake holders happy. A successful CEO would keep the stake holders happy and will facilitate the growth of the company. As a CEO sometimes you may not agree with their point of view but still you may have to accept it for company's greater good.

Same goes with our lives. Only difference is that here we do not have any control on who the stake holders and board of governors are. They are a given for us (parents, friends, spouse etc.). If we can keep them happy, life will be prosperous. If they are not happy your happiness would be affected. Hence, in life it makes sense to go out of the way to make these people happy. How much out of your way can you go to make a person happy depends upon how important that person is in your life. As a CEO you may not agree with their point of view but sometimes you have to accept that for your life's greater good.
